What is Immediate Jeopardy (IJ)?
Immediate Jeopardy (IJ) is the most serious CMS citation a skilled nursing facility can receive. It means a facility's failure to comply with Medicare/Medicaid requirements has caused — or is likely to cause — serious injury, harm, impairment, or death to a resident.
